Aim:

Support research in all branches of clinical medicine and basic biomedical sciences by the provision of fellowships, projects and equipment grants. There are special programmes of mental health, veterinary medicine and tropical medicine. Major competitive awards are given in areas which the trustees identify as needing special support. Provides travel grants for research workers. Arrange interchange of research workers between Britain an Europe, the united states and the commonwealth and fellowships to and form all parts of Europe.
