WATES FOUNDATION

Aim:

The foundation awards a wide selection of grants in the fields of education, social welfare, science, health, the arts and humanities and international relations. The foundation's current particular interest is the physical employment, alcohol and drug abuse, young offenders and young people at risk. It offers opportunities for self-fulfillment through education, recreation and voluntary work within the community. Grants are not made to individuals, and recipients must have charitable status. Only small promotion of the funds are allocated to problems overseas, chiefly for making the skills and resources of the united kingdom available to overseas countries.
