CATHOLIC FUND OVERSEAS DEVELOPMENT - CAFOD

Aim:

The main work is in the funding of development projects in food production; preventive health, vocational training; community development; non-formal education; and block grant made to church development agencies. Specialized fields including emergency aid and relief funds for refugees. Grants are occasionally made for medicine and equipment together with student grants. Grants are also made to volunteer programmes through recognized agencies. Projects involving heavy construction costs are not undertaken, nor are funds provided for primary or secondary education. CAFOD also co-funds with the UK overseas Development administration and EEC.
